We do suggest you mount these houses in a protected area, as there is a small vented area on both sides, where rain could enter. They are glued and nailed. Painted with exterior acrylic paint. Great for indoor or outdoor use.

As for the hole on the Bird Feeder body it is for aesthetics only

I wrap the houses with vinyl and apply a clear laminate

for mounting on a tree or fence
