「現代の商業生産では、原材料と最終製品の間に非常に多くの段階があります。そして、その間に多くのステップがあるため、知識が失われてしまうのです。例えば、養豚業者も自分の豚から作られる最終製品をすべて知っているわけではありません。なぜなら、それがどこに行くのかを知らないだけなのです。」本書のデザインもアーティスト本人によるものであり、100年後に掘り起こされ、その時代の暮らしが明らかになるかもしれないタイムカプセルのようなものをコンセプトにしているという。
