Emerald with QuartzWhen people think of Emeralds, the superb stones from Colombia are probably the first thing to come to mind. For many years however, there have been some excellent Emerald gems coming out of Bahia, Brazil. A few years ago, a good friend in Brazil brought us a parcel of these interesting and unique Emerald and Quartz combination stones. Sometimes crystals of Emerald are found frozen in Quartz and not fully crystallized, so the locals had a great idea

they do not fluoresce well under mixed wave lights

but the back is contacted where it was removed from the pocket
