Bida Dari.This very old Balinese wood carving. The carving is meticulous and minute. You can read more in my musings It is most probably from the '20s or '30s and she is carved in a very dense wood. Originally she was painted black to imitate ebony which this wood shares density. Traces of black paint can still be seen. Ht 40 cm x , W 16 cm, D 12 cm
