Nepenthes platychila x vogelii, BE-3638For sale are seed grown Nepenthes platychila x vogelii from Borneo Exotics. This should be an outstanding cross given the beautiful coloration and shape of the upper pitchers from both species. This plant will best be grown in intermediate conditions but should be tolerant over a wide range. Photo 1 is representative of the species used in the cross (the actual parents were different clones). The other photos are representative of the plants for sale.

We have found this plant to be incredibly vigorous under intermediate and highland conditions

but more colorful pitchers whereas larger pitchers to are produced in shadier conditions

The compact shape also makes it a fine specimen for terrarium growing

thus the name "naga" which translates to "dragon" in Bahasa Indonesia

The parents used for this cross are exemplary

tubby traps with a deep purple peristome

tongue-like appendage from beneath the lid of its purple pitchers

It produces large traps that attain and impressive size and have a beautiful contrast between the interior of the pitcher and the rest of its body

Nepenthes ventricosa is known for being one of the hardiest and most adaptable Nepenthes species

Plants would grow best under highland conditions although we have kept many lowii primary hybrids (such as lowii x spectabilis) under intermediate conditions and they seem to grow very well
